With so many remote workers and solopreneurs setting up shop with baristas, you may consider your coffee shop a coworking space already. And in a sense you’re right. You’re getting out of the house, you’re typically surrounded by other people working on laptops, and so long as you’re buying cups of joe, wifi is free. However, that’s where the perks end.
At coffee shops, not everyone is working, which means social gatherings and just the sounds associated with brewing drinks can become loud and disruptive. When you need a bathroom break, it’s hard to feel safe leaving your possessions out in public. But taking them with you means potentially losing your cozy work nook. And let’s not forget that not only does coffee now come at a price but also the wifi may be spotty at best since it’s not often set up to be responsive to multiple people’s high-speed business needs.
